NHS Celebrates
Global Day of Learning

The Global Day of Jewish Learning was Nov. 7, 2010. Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz of Jerusalem finished his new edition of the Talmud, one of the greatest events in Jewish adult education of the century, and that occasion was broadcast worldwide by satellite.

Jewish communities all over the world held their own educational events on the day, and there was an afternoon of special programming at the JCC in Cincinnati. Further, other institutions here took part in the day in their own ways.

The following pictures are of the special learning session which we had here at Northern Hills Synagogue after morning minyan. We studied a bit of Talmud using the English translation of Steinsaltz’s edition. (FYI, the English translation was discontinued by its publisher, Random House, for commercial reasons. What Steinsaltz finished was in Hebrew.) Kehilla also had special programming for parents and children.
