Shabbat Morning Service
Saturday, May 24, 2008
9:30 a.m.

At the Shabbat morning service, Rabbi Marc Rosenstein will speak on the topic "Jews and Arabs in Israel". Rabbi Rosenstein is the Director of Makom BaGalil – The Galilee Foundation for Value Education, and he is a much sought-after-teacher on Israel, Judaism, and Zionism and educational consultant. His column “Galilee Diary” appears on the web site of the URJ. The population of the Galilee region includes many Arabs, and Shorashim, the settlement where Rabbi Rosenstein lives, is part of the “Shemesh” group, Shorashim-Sha’ab-Misgav, comprised two Jewish and one Arab towns, so his knowledge of his subject is personal as well as professional.

Rabbi Barnard will sponsor the kiddush that morning in honor of Sarah becoming an American citizen.
